Student Supports

Student Supports

Waterford VTOS is committed to providing a supportive learning environment for adults who may not have the opportunity in the past to return to education. Our classes are small with a student-centred learning approach with the emphasis on learning new skills to help you to progress to employment or return to work.
Our course timetables are family friendly since many of our adult learners have family commitments.

A range of other supports are also available to support our students:

Childcare Assistance

Childcare assistance is available through the National Childcare Scheme. This support is limited to two children per family.

Career Guidance

The Waterford VTOS Centre is committed to providing students with a professional career guidance service to enable students plan for the future and to explore new options.  We have a part-time Career Guidance Counsellor and work closely with the local Regional Education Guidance Service for Adults.

Career Guidance Counsellor

A part-time career guidance counsellor is available through appointment on a one-to-one basis. Workshops are held for CAO Application Procedures.
